Home CCTV Systems

You can install CCTv cameras for a variety of reasons.

You may want to make sure you know who is at your front door before you open it. This can be combined with an electronic door opener to allow you to let visitors into the house without actually going to the door.

You can also set up the cameras to monitor the area round your house so that you can check that there is no problem and you can do this either from your home or over the internet.

The CCTV cameras themselves can be provided with software to detect motion and send an alert to you or a designated person. This sort of feature generally works well in daylight but if you want it to work at night or in difficult weather conditions you need to be sure that the equipment is of a good enough standard to allow this.

The Solent Electronic Home can help you with these decisions.

Cameras used for real time monitoring can also be connected to a digital video recorder so that you can see any incident later and possibly use the information to help any police investigation. Recordings can be continuous or triggered by motions sensing in the image.

Some home automation technologies also allow the cameras to be incorporated into the system so that images can be seen on touchscreens and on TVs or the home cinema.
