This is used as a showcase for the technologies involved and is a good example of star wiring of the controlled items back to a central point. The features included in this project are listed here.

Home Cinema in a house in Winchester. An high quality new house whose owner wanted the very best in home entertainment experience. The Solent Electronic Home supplied and fitted a first class cinema system for viewing films with surround sound either from DVD or satellite sources. This house also had fitted an SMS activated heating control to enable the owner to start the heating while she is still on her way down from London.
Multi-room sound and video in a new house in Sarisbury Green. Using the Opus 300 distributed sound system and Windows media server the owner of this home now has a very cost-effective solution for multi-room sound and video in 4 main zones and 2 sub-zones.
Multi-room sound in 9 new flats in Claygate, Surrey. Using the Opus 300 distributed sound system. In this block of 18 new flats, wiring was pre-installed to provide the option of multi-room sound to new buyers. 9 happy owners decided to fit the system and The Solent Electronic Home supplied and fitted the hardware and commissioned the complete systems ready for hand-over.
CCTV in a luxury home in Lyndhurst in The New Forest. After some problems with missing property the owner of this luxury home decided to fit CCTV and a digital recorder, and entrusted The Solent Electronic Home to do the job. We worked with the owner to find the best cable routes and position for the recorder. The images can now be viewed over the internet from anywhere in the world.
Entertainment and lighting in a 17th century manor house near Winchester. Using the Control4 integrated Home Automation system, this house of character has multi-room sound and video allowing the owner to entertain in the 7 reception rooms on the ground floor. A cinema has been installed in the oak-panelled library and HD films can be viewed in total comfort. Integrated lighting allows the mood to be set for parties and other gatherings.
Music Systems and Lighting in an Hotel in Romsey, Hampshire. The Solent Electronic Home was asked to install background music and mood lighting in the bar and restaurants of this completely renovated prestigious hotel in the centre of Romsey. Control4 was chosen for this project because of the reliable wireless dimmed lighting in its range and the ease of configuring the music, downloaded from the internet. 3 methods of controlling both music and lights are provided. Wall mounted push buttons for the staff and a remote control and touch screen for the managers, giving different degrees of control as required for operational reasons. Lighting mood can be changed at the touch of a button, and so can the type of music played at any particular time of day.
Parts of this hotel date from the 15th century so the technology had to be discreet and respond instantly to requests. Control4 does this admirably.
Lighting and Heating Control near to Leatherhead in Surrey. A specialised barn conversion is being built for a severely disabled lady and the WebBrick Systems technology was chosen for its flexibility and cost-effectiveness. This is an ongoing project but the lighting controls are now working and the family have moved into the new accomodation. Control of the environment is by wall switches or touchscreens, and the system will eventually be expanded to include the whole house and also control of blinds and curtains and access to the building itself.
Whole House lighting and heating control in Havant, Hampshire. A magnificent bourgeouis house is being renovated and fitted with modern lighting and heating control. WebBrick technology has been chosen for this project because of its unique flexibility and the ability to keep extending the controls gradually to the whole house. Underfloor heating is being used in this project and the WebBrick has a special interface module to cater for the requirements of underfloor heating systems.
Holiday Homes in the Lake District. An holiday home management company wishes to monitor the heating requirements of each of the many holiday cottages it operates in the Lake District. The requirement is to monitor the internal temperature, external temperature and fuel usage from a central location and optimise the use of fuel. Reports will be generated for each cottage and control strategy adapted accordingly. The potential cost savings are enormous when all the cottages are taken into consideration. Currently the pilot installation has been completed by The Solent Electronic Home,using a single WebBrick per cottage and the client has to decide when to go ahead with complete implementation.
Adding multi-room audio and HDTV distribution to an upgraded house near to Botley in Hampshire. This project is really the completion of the original concept for this house which was to have multi-room sound and video throughout the house. 2 first rate home cinema installations have been installed and multi-room sound using Control4 technology. The owner now has the luxury of listening to music or radio or HDTV in all the main rooms of his home at the touch of a button.

A front ranking computer engineering company has installed their european centre of excellence in Putney in London and they have selected The Solent Electronic Home to install the centralised lighting and heating controls which will provide the up-to-date control and economies of energy usage which are an essential part of the company philosophy. WebBricks have been used to achieve the result due to their adaptability and their ability to connect to any piece of electrical equipment. The overall result is one of seamless quality of concept and execution.
